Chalet Papillon, Les Eucherts, La Rosiere
Chalet Papillon is a new building which actually contains six chalets, a sauna and a crèche. It sits about 2 minutes walk from a bend in the road from which you can traverse to the piste down to the Eucherts Express chair. The return home in the evening is to the same point.
Les Eucherts is not in the centre of La Rosiere but is served by a free bus (and later in the evenings a free taxi) or a stroll through the woods. The route is well marked and also doubles as a sled park in the evenings with small children (and some not so small) taking advantage of the undulating path.
At the front you enter the main hall off which is the boot room (good size and plenty of warmers) and a separate ski room. For those who remember the shared boot room in Chalet Crystal it is nothing like that!!!
Then the next challenge is to find your chalet….
… Up one flight of stairs (or take the lift) takes you to the crèche and then on to Papillon 5,6 and the Sauna!
… Up two flights of stairs takes you to the front doors of Papillon 1,2,3 and 4. Once in Papillon 2 you go down stairs to the bedrooms!
Just to confuse matters you can enter the building by the back door (where the bus stop is) and you are on the first floor! On this side of the building there is another flight of stairs and another lift (just as well it is a different colour inside to ease confusion!)
Having said that all chalets have Wi-Fi access and Papillon 2 has 6 nice rooms, a decent sized (although slopey roofed) kitchen and dining area. The view from the balcony would include Les Arcs if it wasn’t for the chalet over the road.
The other benefit (for us) is an underground car park which means that the car isn’t being snowed on all week.
